Lately I had been so good lately about writing regularly until this week. What can I say for myself? Well, its hard to not get bogged down with the economy going the way it is. Especially when receive such devastating news about our favourite sources of inspiration going under (i.e. Cottage Living, Domino, and In Style Home). My career is so heavily dependant on the economy and especially design that this news comes as a severe disappointment in addition to my almost daily occurrences of Interior Design friends being let go. My boss keeps telling me I have to be a cheerleader, so here I am to remind you that there are plenty of design resources to be cheerful about.
I know I know, it sounds dated, but if you haven't checked out this magazine in awhile I really must insist that you do. Why? Well, here's why:
Bedrooms to sleep your worries away in:
Bathrooms that make you want to be obsessively clean (especially after a rough day at the office):
Kitchens to become a gourmet in (or cook for someone in need):
Hallways to welcome your friends when they've been hurt by the state of the dollar: Closets to organize when you donate to charity:
Dining rooms to welcome in your loved ones (those that you can count on when in need):
Kids rooms to remind you that life goes on:
Offices to get your butt (and taxes) in gear:
Laundries to take pleasure in the things we should be thankful for (like clothes on our back):
And living rooms to, well, live in!:
If you're reading this right now, then I'm pretty sure you have alot to be thankful for. We've got to remember when the going gets tough to remain in a constant state of Thanksgiving for what we have and consistently hope for what awesome things will come in the future.
But if your style is more modern or streamlined than mine, of course, BH&Gs got you covered there as well.
Here goes, same principles, just with a different spin:
Bedrooms:
Bathrooms:
Kitchens: Hallways:
Closets:
Dining: Kids: Offices:
Laundries:
Living:

There is a time for everything,

and everything on earth has its special season,

There is a time to be born and a time to die.

There is a time to plant and a time to pull up plants.

There is a time to kill and a time to heal.

There is a time to destroy and a time to build.

There is a time to cry and a time to laugh.

There is a time to be sad and a time to dance.

There is a time to throw away stones and a time to gather them.

There is a time to hug and a time not to hug.

There is a time to look for something and a time to stop looking for it.

There is a time to keep things and a time to throw them away.

There is a time to tear apart and a time to sew together.

There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.

There is a time to love and a time to hate.

There is a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Everything, my angels, happens for a reason!
